FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION?

Beginning with eyes closed you follow the therapist’s relaxing suggestions & gently drift into a relaxed and peaceful state while listening to gentle music, creating a calm & comfortable atmosphere.

WILL I BE AWARE OF WHAT’S HAPPENING?

You are aware of everything that is being said by the therapist & can converse freely. Being a natural therapy, there can be no cause for concern.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM HYPNOSIS?

The only side effects are the beneficial ones of feeling more relaxed afterwards & feeling more positive about whatever it was you sought hypnotherapy for.

CAN I BE MADE DO SOMETHING AGAINST MY WILL?

No. There is no possibility of ‘mind control’ or manipulation. We all have an inbuilt safety mechanism which brings us out of hypnosis if asked to do something against our will.

WHO CAN BE HELPED BY HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is for everyone, not just for those who may be suffering from troublesome emotional or physical problems. Everyday upsets & worries can cause us stress – Hypnotherapy can be a very useful tool in helping us to handle this.

HOW CONFIDENTIAL ARE THE SESSIONS?

ICHP is dedicated to the professional & ethical use of Hypnosis allied to the practise of Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, Hypno-psychotherapy and Psycho-Analysis for the treatment of nervous disorders and emotional problems.

WHAT IS THE SUCCESS RATE OF THE HYPNOTHERAPY SESSIONS?

The success rate of the hypnotherapy sessions is 85% and above.

DO HYPNOTISTS HAVE SPECIAL POWERS?

A hypnotherapist is a normal person who eats, sleeps, feels happy and sad, and loses their car keys. There is nothing special or magical about them at all. They have simply been trained, and have honed this training with experience, to help guide people into a hypnotic state. A stage hypnotist may play on having ‘hypnotic powers’ in order to add excitement and drama to their shows, but they too will readily admit that they are simply using techniques that have been learnt and developed with practice and experience.
